Organic Blue Curled Scotch Kale (500mg) Description:
Blue Curled Scotch Organic Kale Seeds are hardy and grow in most regions. Blue Curled Scotch Kale is one of the most frost-resistant varieties, which means you can plant them earlier and keep plants in the ground longer. Toss washed kale in smoothies with berries and other sweets for a blast of fiber, antioxidants, and minerals.

Organic Blue Curled Scotch Kale Planting Instructions:
About three months before the last expected fall frost, plant all 500 MG of organic kale seeds. Seeds should be 1/4 to 1/2 inch deep in rows spaced 18-30 inches apart and germinate after 55 days in full sun. To reduce disease, do not plant kale or other cole crops in the same location more than once every 3-4 years. However, some gardeners grow a spring crop of kale, pull it and then grow a summer crop of something else. After that crop is harvested, they grow another kale crop into the fall.

Organic Blue Curled Scotch Kale Harvesting Instructions:
Harvest kale immediately after the first frost, when leaves are about the size of an adult hand. Pick bright green and fresh leaves in handfuls, but avoid taking the terminal bud in the top middle. The bud will produce more organic kale. Wash and cook the leaves like spinach or toss them fresh into salads. Kale last about a week in the refrigerator.

Did You Know This About Siberian Kale?
In 19th century Scotland, the word, "Kail" was a generic term for the word dinner and many Scottish kitchens featured a "Kail pot" for cooking. Because of its hardiness, Kale was grown each year on the Scottish Islands.
