Lemon Balm does best in full sun and has a grow time of 200 days. Sow seeds indoors 6 to 8 weeks before the last frost. Just barely cover the seeds with a seed-starting formula and keep the soil at 70 F and moist. After 2 to 3 weeks, seedlings should emerge. Once they do, provide plenty of light for up to 16 hours per day if using a fluorescent light. Feed the seedlings with a half-strength starter solution when they are 3 to 4 weeks old.

Harvest leaves throughout the summer for fresh use. The signature aroma of Lemon Balm rapidly diminishes when dried or stored.
